Doc 01

plumberwaterlab.com is operated by FP Plumbing, a residential plumbing service serving the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. This policy covers this website and the information we collect when you contact us to request plumbing service.

Information We Collect

Personal Information

We collect personal information only when you choose to give it to us. In practice that means:

  • Contact details you submit — your name, phone number, and the details of the plumbing issue you describe, when you call, text, or use the form on our contact page.
  • Photos you send — if you text a photo of a plumbing issue to help us understand the problem before a visit.
  • Service address and scheduling details — needed to coordinate and carry out a plumbing visit.

We do not ask for, and this website has no facility to take, payment card details online. Please do not send financial account information through the contact form.

Non-Personal Information

Like most websites, we and our service providers automatically receive limited technical information when a page loads: browser type, device category, pages viewed, and general region derived from IP address. This information is used in aggregate to understand how the site is used, and we do not attempt to use it to identify an individual visitor.

How We Use Information

  • To respond to service requests, quote and schedule plumbing work
  • To communicate with you by phone or text about an active or upcoming job
  • To operate, secure and troubleshoot the website
  • To understand, in aggregate, which pages and articles visitors find useful
  • To meet legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share your contact details with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

This site uses a small number of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary — including the record of your cookie banner choice, stored locally in your browser, so we do not ask again on every page.
  • Analytics — to count visits and understand which pages are read. These are set only where you have accepted non-essential cookies.

You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown on your first visit, and you can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may mean the banner reappears on each visit.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of providers to run this site and our business, and they process limited information on our behalf: web hosting and content delivery (to serve pages and maintain server logs), analytics (to produce aggregate readership statistics), and our phone and SMS provider (to receive and respond to your calls and texts). These providers are permitted to use information only for the purpose of providing their service to us.

Data Retention

Contact details and job information are kept for as long as needed to complete and follow up on the work requested, and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping and warranty purposes. Server logs are kept for a short operational period. Aggregate analytics that cannot identify an individual may be retained indefinitely.

Data Security

The website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to customer information is limited to people who need it to do their job. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we take these steps seriously we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive financial information through the contact form.

Children's Privacy

This website is intended for adults arranging plumbing service for a residence. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your Privacy Rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or ask us to delete information we no longer need to retain for legal or record-keeping reasons. To make a request, contact us using the details below and tell us what you're asking for.

Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when our practices change. Updates are published on this page with a revised date at the top.
