Drain Cleaning

Slow, gurgling or fully blocked drains cleared at the source, from a single sink to the main line.

What This Service Covers

A drain that's slowing down is rarely a one-off event — it's usually the early stage of a blockage that's still building. We clear kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, tub and shower drains, laundry lines, floor drains, and the main line that carries everything out to the municipal sewer or septic system. Each of these clogs differently and needs a different approach to clear properly.

Kitchen drains tend to clog from grease and food particles, bathroom drains from hair and soap scum, and main lines from a mix of buildup, tree roots and, in older homes, aging or cracked pipe. Knowing which one you're dealing with changes both the tool we reach for and how long the fix holds.

What's Included

  • Diagnosis of where the blockage sits and what's likely causing it
  • Snake and auger clearing for kitchen, bathroom and laundry drains
  • Main line clearing for deeper or more stubborn clogs
  • Root intrusion clearing on older sewer and drain lines
  • Guidance on habits or fixtures that keep causing repeat clogs

What to Expect

We start by asking which fixtures are affected and how the slowdown has progressed, since a single slow sink points to something very different than multiple drains backing up at once. On site, we clear the blockage with the right tool for the line, run water to confirm it's flowing freely again, and flag anything — like early root intrusion or a pattern of repeat clogs — that's worth keeping an eye on.

Worth Scheduling Soon

A sink that drains slowly, a tub that pools water during a shower, or a gurgling sound from a nearby fixture when you run water elsewhere.

Call Right Away

Multiple drains backing up at once, water coming up from a floor drain, or sewage odour in the house — that's an emergency plumbing situation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What usually causes a kitchen drain to clog?

Grease and cooking fat are the most common culprits. They go down warm and liquid, then cool and harden inside the pipe, catching food particles and narrowing the line over time.

How is a clogged drain actually cleared?

For most household clogs, we use a drain snake or auger to physically break up or pull out the blockage. For tougher or deeper clogs, including main line issues, we may use a larger machine designed for those lines.

Can tree roots really get into a drain line?

Yes, especially on older clay or cracked lines. Roots are drawn to the moisture inside the pipe and can work their way in through small gaps, gradually narrowing or blocking the line.

Why do bathroom drains slow down over time even without a big clog?

Hair combined with soap scum and hard water mineral buildup gradually coats the inside of the pipe. It's a slower process than a single clog but has the same end result if it's not cleared.
